A few days ago, we opened up the registration for our first Nibiru Incentivized Testnet (NIT). NIT consists of four phases, each involving different tasks, leading up to a grand trading competition and, finally, mainnet launch. Today, we're officially kicking off NIT #1.

Participants will have a chance to win a combined rewards of our native token, USDC and other prizes such as NFT and future public sale allocations (subject to change).

Nibiru Incentivized Testnet #1

• Begins: February 27, 2023

• Ends: In March when NIT #2 starts

• Coincides with the

  Nibiru Ambassador Program

The main focus of NIT #1 is to test out Nibiru's Oracle Module, which manages the process by which validator nodes act as oracles by voting on exchange rates between pairs of crypto assets. Since the voting power for this process directly maps from the voting power in proof-of-stake, most of the tasks for this phase of incentivized testnet are related to staking.

Registration

To register, you must submit all info required and complete the following tasks. Only registered users are eligible to participate in Nibiru’s incentivized testnet.

Please note all tasks listed are mandatory for a successful registration. Completing tasks also grants you points (indicated as worth # of entries), which will help you claim rewards once the testing is over.

Task List: How to Earn Rewards

The following tasks give points toward your reward total on NIT. It's not required to complete every task, and they aren't all worth the same amount. We've also included guides on how to get started in the section that follows. Feel free to ask the Nibiru team or other community members for help on Discord if you get stuck.

For Delegators (+1800)

• Stake at least 1 NIBI to a validator
• Claim rewards
• Redelegate your stake from one validator to another
• Stake to an oracle
• Unstake your tokens

For Validator Operators (+1000)

• Become a validator

  (active or inactive). You just need to sync a full node and send a

  create-validator

  transaction.

• [Bonus +500] Never get slashed.

For Oracles (+2500)

For price data external to the blockchain, Nibiru relies on its participants from the validator set to vote on exchange rates.

• Vote in at least 10000 VotePeriods
• Provide prices on all whitelisted pairs for those VotePeriods.

Note: An oracle is a validator that provides prices rather than abstaining.

Community

• Complete the tasks described on Gleam if you have not already.

For Developers

• Merge a bug fix to the nibiru repo
• Cause a panic/chain halt or the destroy the testnet by any means.
• Contribute a data source to the pricefeeder repo

Rewards Eligibility

In order to participate in any of the Nibiru incentivized testnets, participants you must first pass all eligibility requirements. There are three steps:

1. Register for NIT
2. Complete the tasks outlined in any phase of the NIT roadmap
3. Pass “Claims” eligibility (KYC)

Restricted Territories

Due to regulatory considerations within the US and other restricted territories, residents of these jurisdictions are unable to claim token-based rewards. These users are still welcome to participate in each NIT.

We are actively exploring the possibility of giving other non-token forms of rewards for successful participants based in the US, but there’s no guarantee that any such rewards will be available to participants residing in these jurisdictions.

Claiming

In order to receive incentives, you must provide certain identifying information such as your name, residence information, date of birth, etc. to pass sanctions screening.

In a future announcement, we will launch a web portal that contains a claims submission page, instructions on how to receive your claim, and claim status pages. The screening processes are usually fast but in some cases can take time to complete.

Any rewards in connection with the incentivized testnets will be provided only following successful mainnet launch.
